Detailed
"What do I do well?" "When do I experience flow in my work and/or personal life?" "What can I do instead of what can't I do?!" "How can I make my talents even more visible in my work?" "I want to invest energy in the things I am good at instead of the things that are difficult for me!" All of these themes will be examined in the workshop "Discover your personal strengths". Investing energy in expanding your talents instead of in working on your weaknesses; this represents the heart of talent management. Everyone has several talents. These talents are visible at a young age, and are expressed through a feeling of flow in your work and private life. The feeling that something requires no effort whatsoever, and that things happen 'automatically'. And who doesn't want to have that feeling in their life?! Over the centuries, society has always taught us to work on our weaknesses. 'We'll let you know if it's not okay...". In other words, when things are going well, we take this for granted and do not focus on it. This is why the starting point in training courses is often: "What can't you do yet and what do you still need to learn?" Although this is useful, it is less positive and energising. Working on your talents gives you energy, self-confidence, and improves your performance! If you want to know where your talents lie, and optimise how you use them in your life, then this workshop is for you. In the workshop "The Talent Journey: Discover your personal strengths", we focus on the talents you do have, and how to best use these in your life. We do this by reflecting on your life, and pinpointing the times you experienced 'flow'. We identify your talents and make a plan for maximising them. We create a step-by-step plan to help you apply your talents in practical situations. After completing the workshop, you will be able to: name your talents; apply your talents in practise with the aid of a concrete step-by-step plan; approach your work with self-confidence and energy; choose those activities which utilise your talents and which do not; learn to better control your weaknesses.
